Join the global dance activation and experience a transformational dance immersion with Global Dance Artist & Cultural Ethnologist, Kimberly Miguel Mullen.
Through a series of guided rhythmic movements, dancers will embody elements of AfroCuban, AfroBrazilian, and AfroCaribbean sacred and popular cultural dance traditions to a pulsating sound track of percussive drum beats by the world’s best Cuban & Brazilian percussionists.
Message From Kimberly…
Here it is! After immersing myself inside the study of African diaspora cultural dance practices both in and outside of the Caribbean, Cuba, and Brazil for the past 25-years and then spending the past 15-years choreographing and performing in Dance DVDs…
I am over the moon excited to merge my two worlds: the study of ancestral dances practices with the modern technologies of digital media.
Although I never could have imagined owning my own dance studio, it’s been a lifelong dream to create an educational platform that would help share the healing powers of these resilient dance practices.
If you’ve enjoyed dancing along with me in-person, in my Dance & Be Fit Dance DVDs or on GaiaTV, then you will LOVE these video classes….
I am grateful to my teachers who have taught me everything I know and have given me their blessings to share this knowledge with my students.
Brandon "BURRITO" Borrero has been bringing his open level HIP HOP classes to La Vie for a while now. Open to ALL levels, Burritos classes embrace a positive energy where everyone is able to express themselves through dance in their own way! As he will tell you, we are all different, the person in front of you, behind you, beside you... doesn't look like YOU or MOVE like YOU! These classes are great for beginners just starting out and for the advanced dancer that wants to SHOW!
Group and solo video footage available for download at the end of every class!
We highly recommend at least 3 months of consistent Level 1 classes prior to attending Level 2. However we encourage you to take Level 1 classes as often as you can to solidify your Zouk basics. There are always things to improve and solid basics are the basis to all your Zouk movements.
Classes take place at La Vie Dance and Culture, located at 1255 W Morena Blvd, San Diego 92110

A weekly open practica lead by Chris Brenner in order to preserve the knowledge of Son Cubano and share it with others so the moves and figures won’t be forgotten in our area and can be shared with others.
